“Top 5 Dead or Alive, and that’s just off 1 LP”
Ok, so JadaKiss made the above quote, but who is the best rapper? In one of the many conflicts of an educated African American, we listen to the same music we hate. With that said, and the mass of new CD’s hitting the I Tunes market, lets take a second to evaluate.
(1) Jay Z – I doubt most “Street” guys will like it, but I love it. He’s talking about being on another level. Not about being a thug, but about progessing to a business man. I feel that. Most African American males and females should. His progression from a thug to businessman, and not being affraid to make a record about it, makes him by number one rap artist today, and of all time.
(2) The Game – He name drops like a whore, talks about being street when he was on “Change of Heart” and the girl had a change of heart, and had a tattoo of a butterfly of his cheek (which even sounds gay to gay dudes). All in all, the Game is aweful, but the beats are hot. Not to mention, be brags about being in a gang to which he doesn’t belong. That is going to sell. Stupid, but that makes him second.
(3) Emenim – Same old, same old. Ripping new ass wholes, wishing he would be named as the greatest, wondering why people don’t beef with him when he tries to start drama. No one cares. Get off your drug habit, lock down your girl, and say something I haven’t heard you say. But, with a full collaberation albulm where he is only on a little less than 1/2 the songs, I will give you the 3 slot for putting others on.
(4) Nas – Haven’ t heard it yet. Sure, everyone’s got the bootleg, but I’m waiting. Hip Hop is Dead? True indeed, but you lying about what you’ve done in your street life isn’t going to bring it back. For that, you get the fourth spot.
(5) Anything from the south exept Little Brother - Young Cheezy, I mean Jeezy – LAME! Didn’t like the first.Won’t like this. Go ahead, promote your snowman shirts, be a detriment to our youth, and act like a clown. No one should support you. You may make money, but you are a sell out!
Laffy Taffy, snapping fingers like you’re a homosexual, no content, and all detriment. Luda is ok because he knowshe’s not a thug, and TI knows his mom went to Duke. I don’t know you? You’re mom got a premire education. Lil’ John, your parents are educated. Say YEAH to them. That probably call you the clown that you are.
(6) Snoop Dogg – I was once fooled by you persuasion. Not now. I know you to be the clown that you are. I am not sold.
So, rap music is down these days, but I still like Jay Z. Thanks for truely keepin’ it real.

I was ok until you had to bite on the Dirty South…but I do agree with most everything you said. I happen not to like Jay-Z based solely on the fact that I don’t like his voice (can we say gay chipmunk?). Anyway, don’t be so hard on a locale different than your own. Dirty South rappers gotta whole new set of baggage to deal with than you East Coast guys…and don’t include Houston in the D.South game; they’re on their own.
The thing is, I am from NC, which claims to be part of that “dirty south” style. We have a must stronger affiliation to Atlanta than New York. I like Luda down there. And, you’re right. Houston is not dirty south.
you just made Jay
#1 so you could have that picture of him with Beyonce.
(smile)
All i have to say is where is Pac’s “Me against the world”
That cd is crushing a lot of cd’s. Yeah its old and may be out dated, but i was around when it 1st came out and that is a classic!! He is actually talking about something on every song. Unlike these so called rappers today who do nothing but talk about selling dope, cars, hoes, and money!! When i was coming up rap actually gave you some game, thought you something, or helped you to understand a situation, or actually told a story. which helped you relate to them and feel like yall was going through the same stuff, in life and your hood. Dont get me wrong they talked about the stuff i mentioned earlier ( selling dope…ect. ) but that wasnt the whole song/cd was about.
Laffy Taffy – need i say more!
Money n’da bank, sho’tie what’cha drink – You need to mention the bank to buy a what….$5-$8 drink?
I feel like im wasting my time cuz i could talk about this for hours, but i think you get my point. Rap today has no substance, thats what nas means by hip hop is dead. it kinda is, this aint rap/hip-hop. Its brag’n on beats!!
omg jay z number one…u crazy….and u put the game before nas, where is the love to NYC…the lox big l, BIG smalls…and the west pac i hope u were high when u wrote this cuz this not right
one more thing u just killed hip hop
WTF? jay-z is ok. THE GAME!? you cant bag on the game. he will make you look like a fool anytime of the day. his lyrics are the bomb. his beats are tight, his mixtapes make 50 and g-unit look like complete bitches. hes new to the rap game, he is street, read his biography you fuck. Fuck new york clubbin shit. its about the west coast. besides nas. nas is great. his old shit is better then the new. but its all still good. lil wayne dont right his own raps so you all gotta forgive him for the diss’s he puts out. i agree with the south, bunch of homos jumpin around snappin fingers besides luda. who ever listed that top 5 should be shot. heres the top five 1.Pac 2. Dre 3. Game 4. Nas 5. Em. thats how it goes.

“THE REAL” Top 5 Dead Or Alive.
1. Rakim
2. Tupac
3. Biggie
4. Jigga
5. Nasir
who ever the fuck wrote this needs to fuckin die. Serously, who do you think you are? p diddy? timbaland to judge a varity of artists who do not relate to each other but yet you put them in the same catagory. you need a life, if you are this bored to share you OWN! personal oppinons which its clear that nobody agrees with your fuckin nigger ass. so go ahead lil to big pimpin cuase you know jay z is just such a g compaired to pac and biggie right thats why he is still alive hahaha. you should shut the fuck up
Hip-hop isn’t dead, as times change so does the focus of a generation. A little less struggle leans toward easier lifestyle. Money talk is nothing but wishfull thinking. In terms of the top 5 dead or alive, that can only be based on personal opinion so there is really no point in arguing about it. In stead of looking at what the game is lacking you should look at what each individual brings to the table. Jay is th best to me, but that’s my opinion. I have friends with personal bests that differ from mine, but we don’t bash eachother for that. Say what you will but think before you speak.
TOP 5 DEAD OR ALIVE
1.BIG
2.PAC
3.JAY Z
4.STYLES P
5.JADAKISS
its real hard to only name 5 mc’s because there are so many of them out there (past and present) that know/knew what the rap game was all about. i personally dont like all this new bullshit ass “quote” hip-hop music (exp. soulja boi, lil wayne, lil boosie, young dro, young joc, etc. if you have a Lil or Young in your name, your automatically wack so jus quit trying and go sell bubble gum or somethin). so with much deliberation, my top 5 mc’s, based solely on my preference of lyrical content, dead or alive are as follows:
1. Notorious B.I.G.
2. Jay-Z
3. Big L
4. Eminem
5. Jadakiss
now, i know that a lot of you out there are thinking, “that’s some bullshit” because Tupac isnt in my top 5. That is because I personally don’t like all of Tupac’s tracks, as i like the rest of my top 5. However, I will give him the number 6 spot ONLY because of the Don killuminati 7 day theory album.
